The most common reported problems upon first receiving new dentures is that they are bulky. You should seek the care of a licensed dentist or a prosthodontist, a dentist with three years of training beyond dental school who specializes in the care and maintenance of dentures. With the extra training in best fit and appearance of dentures, a prosthodontist should be able to make adjustments or create a denture that will make you look and feel good for your daughter's upcoming wedding. Question: I have had my dentures for 7 months, . I can't even eat with them,I have lost 36 pounds since I got them,I am 5'2 and 98 lbs' ( ITS CRAZY) I have tried everything under the sun,the creams,powders,wafers....EVERYTHING and I have to consistly change everything.go back and forth,BECAUSE NOTHING WORKS !!! And my dentist will not fix them anymore, the teeth are crooked, and when I talk, or smile you can't even see my teeth...HE DONE A HORRIBLE JOB !!! PLEASE HELP !!! WHAT CAN I DO ???

You are right, this situation is not acceptable and needs to be corrected right away. First, it sounds like you are loosing too much weight. You should see your medical doctor to make sure that there is no underlying illness that might cause such a rapid weight loss. You also may want to contact a dietician to review your diet including supplements, vitamins and nutrient beverages that require no chewing to consume. Your question seems to imply that the dentures have recently been placed and that your mouth may be healing following extractions, which sometimes takes up to a year. Usually the first denture is transitional and typically a second denture will need to be placed that will fit better and will also allow corrections to be made to improve the esthetics. Question: I just got my second set of dentures and the bottoms are still so sore...I can't eat anything they are miserable . I have been back twice but the girl says she is adjusting them but they are ths same. Would love for the dentist to have explained to me how long this should last and is this normal for them to still hurt so bad and wiggle around so much. I actually hate this set but it is too humiliating going thru it again.
