It's only been a week for me, but I sure do know how you are feeling. I can't speak as to longer time periods, but I would think that you would not be the only one struggling to adjust this long. Your anesthesia sounds horrible, and that must have been traumatic. I'm so sorry about that. I don't have anything to offer but this response, but I saw where the post had been viewed many times with no responses, and that's discouraging too. Best wishes for you.
