It seems like I am always the first one to jump on and talk about things, but I really appreciated the help I got starting out from this website. I had close to the same situation and my wonderful dentist explained that the exposed tooth or root or whatever needed to be pulled or my denture would not "seal". Once you get your denture you have no remaining teeth to anchor too. So you need a tight seal, the exposed root won't allow that to happen. The root that was underground. Was not an immediate problem but as my tissues began to  shrink after extractions. It would not recede and leave a big high spot, once again stopping the denture from sealing. Once your in the chair get it all done!!  I was really worried about the dentist getting these teeth out, but it  as easy as the other extractions. Give your self the best possible chance to get a good fitting, good looking denture. I am 2 months into this and so glad to say I don't have ANY pain in my mouth. Eating great, looking better. If you have a good dentist, trust him and let him do his best for you.
