I know how you feel. I got my dentures september 14th. I couldn't afford to pay to be put to sleep, so I had my top teeth pulled in the dentist office with laughing gas. Like everyone else I got my dentures the same day. One of the places where a tooth was pulled is infected. I have been taking my dentures out a few hours each day and I quit using any adhesive. I have been sleeping with mine in though. I figure I can get use to wearing them while I am asleep and don't feel the pain. I'm not a dentist, but they shouldn't have waited so long to give you your dentures. I think your gums have gotten use to nothing touching them. I am so sorry you are hurting so badly. I don't think anyone should feel this kind of pain. If you've gone a year without teeth then I would take my time getting use to the dentures. I have tried the benzodent before and that stuff works great. Have you tried sucking on a tiny bit of crushed ice when they hurt really bad. My sister had a good idea too. She suggested to eat baby food for a few days. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.
