NO pity party. It just gets better and better. So you did not win the genetic tooth lottery alot of us didn't. I solved the looking in the mirror thing by just not doing it. I soak my plate for about 4 hours twice a week after the hubby is asleep. I don't like all the wrinkles around my mouth when I am toothless and i don't want them to become permanent. I take them out and scrub them with denture creme 2 times a day and I keep my eyes off the mirror.I even bought a thing called the denture vault that looks like a candle to soak my choppers in. I hate the look of the old lady denture bath on my sink. I look better and can eat more with my denture than I could with my miserable teeth. Just rock your denture  gently upish and downish and it will release. You will soon be off the soft foods and back to some great living, I am 3 months in and have no regrets.
