Just got Dentures...

Posted: January 15, 2012 9:30 am

A little background about myself. I'm 22 and have battled with bad teeth since I was 12. When I was 10 I had to get braces put on, a year later I still had them on but my parents went bankruptcy and couldn't afford health/dental insurance on myself or my sister. I remember sitting in the hallways of the Orthodontics office listing the my mom cry asking them to please take my braces off. They wouldn't. So I went home and took them off myself. (That's what started my bad teeth) I got pregnant with my 1st when I was 19 had her when I turned 20, that pregnancy hurt my teeth pretty darn bad I was in so much pain all the time. Even after I was in so much pain (At this time we didn't have insurance on myself). Now 3 years later I have a other little baby she is 2 months old, and that pregnancy killed my teeth as well. The cheapest way to get my teeth fix was to get them all pulled and get dentures so that's what we did! :) The 1st time I seen my smile, with straight teeth and they were so white I cried my eyes out. Everyone though I was in pain but I was just so darn happy and in shock that I actually went through it.

I got 26 teeth pulled and dentures put in on Friday, so this is day 2. More like day 2 and 1/2, anyways the Dental Assistant told me to keep them in for 48 hours so this afternoon I can take them out. I was wondering how bad does it hurt to take them out? I'm ready to take them out and clean them :) Having Dentures has so far been the best thing for me... I can actually smile and laugh without covering up my mouth or turning my head to the side. <3

So please answer my question I asked. Do it hurt to take them out the 1st time? I know it's going to hurt a little putting them back in. Oh and also the 1st time taking them out how long should I keep them out?
