I had all my upper teeth cutout in 2007 and didn't get my dentures until roughly 4-6 weeks later due to stitches and letting the swelling go down. Problem is i'm still gagging and feel like i have a big block in my mouth. I had them grind the back of the roof of the plate down and back as much as possible but they can't go no further cause they're worried the dentures will break. I don't know if part of the problem is that the teeth of the dentures are smaller and shorter than my real teeth were. Not only that but i have a bad overbite due to my bottom jaw is shorter and narrower than my top jaw so my jaws don't line up straight. I don't know what else to try.Any advice would be helpful.

sounds to me as if this so called professional did not do a very professional job on your dentures. I just had 27 teeth extracted and had my full dentures put in the same day, stitches and all! and even though I have some discomfort the fit is almost perfect. I do have a slight speech problem but for the most part just speaking s's and t's. I am still very much in the adjustment phase of the process but feel confident that all will be fine in a few weeks! I'm so sorry you have gone so long being uncomfortable, maybe you need to consult someone else about your problems! They have gone on for way to long!! do something so that you can enjoy your new teeth!!!!!
