Hi Kesha,

I'm 45 and just got my teeth pulled and a new top denture on Monday March 28, 2011. I'm not happy either. I've been taking them out a lot. Like, I dont' even keep them in much at all. I can't eat or talk either, but people do understand. My biggest problem has been gagging !!!!

I had my dentures for a year now and am loving it.  I was 50 and had 14 pulled at one time.  I need several surgeries to remove extra bone along my jaw so I was on the soft and liquid diet for 6 months.  I lost several pounds but once I let them heal and had them readjusted to fit properly, I smile every chance I get.

That said, I tried using the powder and found it did not work as well as the cream.  The cream seems to fill the nooks and crannys that causes the denture to move.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

I'm 31 and just had a full upper put in after having 15 teeth extracted in one day. I'm diabetic, and my uppers were just breaking left and right. I've only had mine about 3 weeks, and I am still trying to get used to them, but they already look 500 times better than my old teeth. I am just waiting for my gums to finish healing so I can chew on them again, getting a bit tired of soups and oatmeal! I was able to talk perfectly fine after about a week, and the dentures don't hurt to wear them at all. If yours are, speak to your dentist about an adjustment. I needed two very quickly after they were made. Good luck!

Yes, that is sort of young to have dentures. I'm 42, and I think thats a bit young as well. Ive had mine now for 5 weeks and I will tell you that it does take some adjustment. It gets a little easier everyday. (After the 1st couple of weeks) I couldnt eat anything but soup for the 1st two weeks. If I spoke to anyone, I kept my hand over my mouth. I sneezed and blew my teeth out!!!!! Thank goodness I was at home when that happened!!! LOL I can laugh now, but when it happened I was in tears. The first couple of weeks are tough but I promise you, it does get better. And remember, by having your teeth pulled, you have obviously dodged some future health issues that could have been due to bad teeth....

I had all my teeth pulled when I was 34.  I tried the dentures for a week and just couldn't adjust, so I went until last year before trying them again.  I am now 42 and had them re-aligned and I love them.  I should have just dealt with it back then.  Not too be harsh but suck it up and it will be worth it in the end.  Hang in there, it will be worth it!!!
