I am only 45 years old and have had my new top denture for only 5 days now. I have to keep taking it out because I keep gagging. They seem to move around a lot as well.
my dentist won't do anything about it and says I have to wait for him to do a re-line ??? in a month... he said if he tries to cut back the top portion of it, it would break.. should I get another opinion???

Yes get another opinion... I just had my dentures about 9 days and my dentist has already adjust them for me... he told me to put some salt on my finger and rub it in the top of my mouth and if it help with the gagging

yes, colleen go get another opinion. I'm three weeks in and had the same problem the first week. went in and they not only moved the back of the top denture up off of my soft palate, but, also made it thinner. I no longer have that gagging feeling anymore. I can also swallow which is beneficial as well. I go to Afdent. Make an appointment, they might even just make it a consultation and do it for free. good luck.
