Are U able to eat solid food yet. This is my 2nd week and the pain has decreased but I can not eat anything but egg salad and peanut butter and jelly if I take the crust off the bread. I can't imagine ever biting into anything. I am miserable to say the least.

hang in there! I had 23 extractions and both upper & lower dentures put in July 11th.As of today, I am still on soft food, taking motrin for pain. I was told to keep mine in 24 hrs a day, except for cleaning. It is not an easy ride, but better days are coming! I promise. Anbesol helps as well. Do you still have stitches? Perhaps a call to the dentist can help, maybe the plates aren't fitting right? Stay strong, remember, you are not alone.

The first week is just a first rate bi*ch.  I filled my denture right up with anbesol, and when I was a little more healed I used benzodent. they really cut the pain down, You should really be at the very worst and should soon  begin improving. Once I started healing and feeling better it was very fast. I just felt better every day. I hope you will round the bend and begin getting better quickly. One I could use an adhesive that stops the denture from moving and you see a big improvement in those dang sore spots. I am seven weeks out now and can say I am glad I did this. I did have a few days where the pain reduced me to tears, 22 years and my hubby has only seen me cry twice . Scared the heck out of him, but right after that I rounded the bend and started to improve. I am hoping the best for you. Let me know how you do in further posts.
