I had 31 extracted leaving one wisdom that can be removed when they go in in three months to place 5 implants. Just had gas today, i am feeling pretty good the top denture has been zero issue, the bottom moves some but dentist will work on it tomorrow as I go back at 10am. Talking with no real issues slight whistle from time to time if I talk to fast. Went to my daughters volleyball game tonight, felt good to smile at her while she was warming up and she looked over. I could see the smile on her face as she realized I was ok and could smile again without being ashamed, the periodontal disease had ruined my teeth and left gaps especially between the front. It was a little a painful with all the shots as the dentist said I was metabolizing the novacaine or whatever they shoot your gums with :). I am taking the antibiotics, and painkiller and ibuprofen as prescribed, I have had some chicken soup, ice cream, mash potatoes so far but couldn't be happier. Sure I have a ways to go, but for day one I am very pleased, and will check in with the dentist tomorrow at 10am, and them again Monday, bur considering all the horror stories I had read prior to today I feel very pleased, especially since I didn't have to miss my daughters game :)

The chewing and biting are the last thing to come together.I found even with a good fit a touch of adhesive gave me that extra something. It totaly changed the feel of the plate. My biggest issue after feeeling good about chewing was biting the inside of my mouth. Just hang in there it comes together. Three plus months and I can eat almost anything.Ok apples are a no go, but about anything else workd well. good luck

Day 7 I had soft reline done helped some but not as much as I had hoped, tried to eat hamburger patty today and was really hard to tore off little bites and chewed best I could, just have to keep working on it, tougher than I expected to eat! The fit is tight and using no adhesive. Speech is getting better every day, seems worse later in the day as I get tired. I am concerned with the eating aspects and would love for someone to chime in with time frame of what to expect? At times I get down and wonder why this happened to me at 44 and how bad it sux, but a pity party isn't goig to change it, just got keep trying but hard to explain to a supportive wife and daughter how frustrating the eating issues are, not that I am hungry, just seems like I will never be able to eat out again or bite into a hamburger or pizza just seems totally a pipe dream. Hoping some of you can throw in some advise and reassurance that it will happen and where I should be as it has been 1 week.

Day 5 started at dentist for adjustments, feels alot better, none needed this am, off the pain scripts, can't chew yet, but will have soft reline completed tomorrow am, good news is great smile :), and no infection in gums. Basis I can't chew yet, but it will come I am sure. Jaw seems sore in the am. Now I just gotta figure out how to eat.

Going back tomorrow am, and he is going to do soft reline Thursday, he seemed pleased with progress, but I am ready for cheeseburger :). He said I can start tryig to eat solid foods but until I get the sore spots fixed not happening. Just taking it day by day :)

Well Since completion Thursday at noon til this Sunday morning hasn't been near as bad as expected. I am getting tired of not eating solid food, but dentist said nothing for first week, ready to get on with that learning process. Healing really well, yesterday was first look in mirror w/out dentures in place, little bit of a shock, but over it, time to move on :). Feeling better everyday, but truly have been doing ok since I left after the procedure. I had no choice for my health, and I was scared too death, but glad it is done. I have been out in public everyday including the day of, not one person has asked or said a word, family and friends that know have been extremely supportive. Just gonna keep moving forward and not look back :)
