This is my third day with upper and lower dentures.  I had my dentures put in after the extractions.  I have had the implants done for the lower denture to snap in.   I am not that far into it yet but will look forward to being able to not have to worry about lowers floppy out.   I work Customer Service in retail and in public eye all the time and that is why I chose to do implants.   I only had 7 teeth removed from top and 6 from bottom.  After having crowns, upper and lower partials I had to come to the realization that this was going to be my only choice in fixing my teeth.   I just turned 65 and was tired of having ugly teeth. I am still swollen and have some sore spots but will be going into the dentist on Monday for another adjustment.  I have an awsome dentist who is also an oral surgeon and an orthodontics not to mention a friend of the family.......   I am drinking Slim Fast and making smoothie with yogurt and banana's and going to tried to get a little more protine and add some peanut butter.  Good luck with all you have to do

Just got my dentures a few days ago after going without them for over 3 months - long story!!  The fit is pretty good on the uppers and the lowers are always going to be an issue.  I tried the pastes and HATED THEM!!!  All that goo left in your mouth was disgusting.  Thought I would try the Fixodent Extra Hold powder and must say it works great.  I don't think anything, short of getting the snap-in kind for the lowers, will work to hold the lower teeth in.  I like using the powder because there is very little, if any, residue left in my mouth when I remove my dentures.  I am going to try another brand called Rigident.  From reviews online it appears to be one of the best adhesives.  I ordered from Amazon and should be in next week.  Will post to let you know if it works better than Fixodent.  I believe the issue with the Fixodent is that it is water soluble so when you drink, liquid will seep in and begin to loosen the hold.  Rigident is NOT water soluble so I'm thinking it will hold better.  Kind of concerned though if it isn't water soluble, how do you clean your dentures??  Guess I'll find out!!
