How long before you can bite something, a piece of bread anything?

As you probably know, right now, you can chew small (and then progressively larger) pieces of food that you cut up and put in your mouth. Once your dentures are relined and adjusted, you should be able to use your front (but, more likely, your side) teeth to bite into something soft (like bread) without dislodging your dentures. In my case, that took about a month. I must confess, though, that I still feel more secure (especially in public) if I cut or tear my food before eating it. Don't worry, you will get used to it!
