Are there denture materials that are better than others? What should I be looking for?

The only real issue (and, these days, it is not much of one) with respect to complete (as opposed to partial) dentures is whether the teeth should be made of porcelain or acrylic/plastic. A google or yahoo search will give you lots of information about this topic. However, in the final analysis, you should be guided by your dentist with respect to this issue (and will probably end up with acrylic/plastic teeth). The base/plate part of complete dentures is made of acrylic (although, in special cases, it may be reinforced with metal).
