Two weeks ago today I had 22 extractions and aveoloplasty done with temp. dentures placed. I have experienced moderate to almost severe pain while wearing my dentures. I went back to my oral surgeon for post op he informed me that he has to do another aveoloplasty but we have to wait 3 more weeks before it can be done. He told me that the pain I have will have to be dealt with that adjusting the temp will not help. Has anyone experienced this type of situation? And is there anything I can do? I am a 45 year old woman and really dont want to go out in public without any teeth. I am starting to feel hopeless in this situation.

I have not personally experienced anything like this. However, I am surprised that it is your oral surgeon, rather than a dentist, who is making the judgment calls with respect to the fit of your dentures. I am even more surprised that he or she is not sympathetic about your being unable to wear your immediate dentures. After all, the whole point of getting immediate dentures is so that you don't have to go out in public without any teeth.
Did your oral surgeon make your dentures (and, if so, I'm surprised and, if so, you should ask for a refund since you can't wear them)? Regardless, have you considered consulting with a dentist about your dentures? I would think that your dentures could be adjusted/loosened so that you can wear them for cosmetic purposes even if you cannot eat very well with them. I would also think that even after the second aveoloplasty, your dentures will require adjustment for them to fit.
I really think you need to get a second opinion.
Good luck.
