I'm 45 and had a terrible dentist as a child. I had three children (pregnancy can be rough on teeth!) and I hadn't seen a dentist since I was about 15. Within the past few years my gums had receded so much I had teeth falling out left and right. I finally got the courage to do something about it. I went to our low-income dentist here who pulled the 5 back teeth I had left and the remaining 12 a week later, then I proceeded immediately to our local Affordable Dentures for my immediates (my dentist refused to do an immediate.) That was this past Friday and I had been in enormous pain, feeling they were digging into the back of my gums, causing a sore throat, and my bite was off. I went for a readjustment today and they are SO MUCH better! It is very trying learning how to talk and eat, but the fact that I can smile without it looking like I smoke meth or something is making it so worth all the hardship! Patience and willpower, that's what you need. It is, by far, the best thing I have done for myself and I feel so much happier. For those going through tough times, remember to see about adjustments and tell your dentist about every issue! IT GETS BETTER (and I am just 5 days in!)
