try using cushion grip, I bought it at walmart and it helps keeping the top plate more secure also I use the powder which i feel works much better than the glue. I also have only bottom teeth on one side and am trying to get the hang of eating with them. without the powder or glue I cannot eat. good luck

I understand it’s frustrating having to learn how to eat again. I’m the Fixodent Community Manager, and I agree you should consult with your dentist. About two weeks after your extractions, you can begin to use denture adhesive. Denture adhesive will not only provide holding power, but will also improve the fit and feel of your dentures. Feel free to let me know if you have questions about any of our Fixodent products.
Meanwhile, I’d like to send you something by mail. Would you mind sending me an email with your name and address? Please send it to smhc.im@pg.com with the word Fixodent in the subject line. Thanks! ^Karen

I think you need to go back to your dentist (who should have anticipated this problem). Your denture can probably be soft lined to fit better and be more stable. Then, you should be able to chew on the one side that you can without unseating the denture on the other side. You might also need to use some adhesive (once your stitches are out and you have healed some).
Good luck.
