Hi All, I was so happy to find this web-site, and join in the conversations. I'm 62, and due to bone loss, had my 9 remaining uppers removed a week ago. they immediately put in my "stay plate" which is a tempory denture, it looks fantastic !! in 6 months I go for the permanant dentures. I am fortunate that I live close to Ann Arbor, mi. where they have a dental college at U of M. I don't have insurance, but they made payment arrangements for me, as long as I put half down up front. Last year , I had a root canal done on my 25 yr old 4 point bridge, which I lost with the extractions. sad about that. I had that done at U of M too, so was already in the system. the swelling has gone down, gums still sore tho. the biggest problem is trying to get the darn thing out !!! it gets "welded" to my pallet. I'm not using anything to glue it in. I have a appointment tomorrow with my student dentist. I've tried, really warm salt water, which worked one time, any suggestions? thanks
