I am nearly ready to have the big full on sob session. I had five extractions and the placement of upper and lower partial plates. The lower had to come out or the upper had to come out but they both cannot co-exist in my mouth together. The fit is horrid and I am to go back on Monday for the first recheck. I have a prior lower partial that this dentist hated. I hated it too until now. I may take the valastoplast in to have him add another tooth. I don't want a hassle but the appliance is like five ford pick-up trucks trying to exist in my mouth. I cannot speak without gagging, I cannot bite or get my teeth together. If I leave just the uppers in the remaining natural teeth hit the upper in an odd way. Why wouldn't he believe me when these went in after my extractions? Really having second thoughts about going through with the implants with this dentist. This is strike two for me against him.

I'm Karen, the Fixodent Community Manager. I'm sorry you're going through this. The bite of a set of dentures, or the manner in which the upper and lower teeth come together, is extremely important and must be carefully designed. If you're not satisfied after your follow-up visit, you may want to consult with a prosthodontist. A prosthodontist is a dental specialist with three years of training beyond dental school.
