I am having a hard time keeping my lower denture in place while eating. I have been using another brand adhesive and have to use it 4-5 times a day. I tried Fixodent and the directions say to use only once a day. Impossible!! I wouldn't be able to eat at all. I still have my temporary immediate dentures and will not get permanent ones for about 4 more months. Not due to have a soft reline for a couple more weeks. Any solutions??

Just wanted to let you know I received the coupons in the mail today. Thank you very much. Haven't had the reline yet, but I do want to try the food seal Fixodent....hoping this will help in the meantime. I won't be getting my permanent dentures for about 4 months. Can't wait!! The good part of all this is that I lost about 20 lbs. which I am very happy about. Thanx again.

You need to address this issue with the dentist. Liners and adjustments should be made when they are needed not according to the calendar. Having loose dentures leads to sore spots and sometimes they can become ulcers and will take even longer to heal. It is so important that your new dentures fit as well as possible especially at this phase. You also have to train your mouth muscles to help hold the dentures in place. I would insist that the dentist make whatever adjustments are needed soon. Waiting several weeks is for the birds.
Good luck

This must be so hard to deal with. After extractions, the bone and gums will heal and change, and this can leave room for dentures to move around. I think the combination of your upcoming reline and the "training" of your muscles will help. I know it may be difficult until then, but don't be discouraged. I bet your smile is beautiful! Please write back to let us know how the reline goes.

I tried the Fixodent Complete adhesive again this morning about 9:00.....by the time lunch time rolled around, 12:15 p.m., the lowers were getting loose. I had a couple bites of cut-up pizza and had to re-apply adhesive to finish lunch. These are still my immediate dentures and I'm due for a soft reline on June 12th. This is a real problem especially if I'm eating out. Help!!
