Sorry, I just remembered what else my dentist said about the roof of our mouths. We also have some taste buds there and some people find their food isnt as flavorable as before.

Hi Mamaj,
I'm sorry you've experienced a dry mouth. Even though you've been able to control it with mints and beverages, I would suggest mentioning this to your dentist. Your dentist can determine the cause and give best advice for managing your dry mouth.

I'm Karen, the Fixodent Community Manager. I'm sure this is uncomfortable, and I'm glad you came to the message board for insight.
When dentures are first placed, saliva flow often increases. Still, it's not uncommon for your mouth to be overly dry after you start wearing dentures. Also, some medications can cause a dry mouth as a side effect. It's a good idea to find out the cause of your dry mouth, so it can be properly managed. Be sure to talk to your dentist about this, and you may also want to check with your doctor to see if any medications you may be taking cause dry mouth.
I hope this is helpful!
^Karen
