Well...Monday is The Day...

Posted: July 25, 2012 5:37 pm

I go for my extractions Monday July 30th 8:00am.....

Nervous to say the least. I found this site a few days ago and have been reading as much as I can. What a great site you have put together here where we can all help eachother out through our experiences.

Definetly not something i'm looking forward to but thanks to this site I have a better understanding of what to expect.

Thanks to you all for sharing and I will let you all know how i'm doing.

Thanks for the responses!! It is now day four after my extractions and everything is going as well as can be expected. Have had one adjustment and will be going for another tomorrow. But all in all things are well. eating soft foods and still trying to deal with this foreign object in my mouth. But MAN do I like my smile!!

I am so ready for my gums to heal up so I can start eating again....

thanks to everyone hear and the best advise I can pass on is Stay Positive!! This is a life changing event and negative thoughts can easily bring you down. There is nothing easy about this. Dwelling on the negative is the worst thing you can do.

Every day gets better!!

I'll stay in touch.

It is absolutely and positively normal to be nervous.  I was so nervous that I couldn't eat my "last supper" (which was a huge mistake) or sleep the night before my extractions.

Try to stay as calm as you can.  Try not to be guided by your fears.  Try to think positive thoughts, including how great your smile will be and how great it will feel, after a while, to be pain free.  I still love the idea of never having another novacaine!  Someone else on this message board loves the fact that when her dentist works on her teeth, they are not in her mouth and she doesn't feel a thing!!

If you want me to write a list of things you should have on hand for after your extractions, respond to this post and I will do it.

Good luck (and, in any event, let us know how you do).
