Does getting dentures hurt?

I have had my immediate denture for a month now and i am totally happy. i only have a upper. i had them all removed at once and had very little pain. as i read this message board it is obvious to me that everyone is different. i have insurance that paid for the dentures but every tooth removed cost extra.and thank god it was 80% covered as well. i can only give you my opinion about my experience, and it was not a bad one. my upper denture looks exactly like my natural teeth and i feel very confident when i smile. i am 51 years old. my bottom teeth are in great shape and i plan to keep them that way. also after your teeth are pulled they do incert an immediate denture if thats what you want. or you can wait until your gums heal and then get them. i say no to that...i dont ever want to be without my BEAUTIFUL TEETH.. to me they are very much my real teeth. i wish you all the best and that you have a positive experience with your new smile. Thank you for that reply. It has also helped me. I am thinking of getting dentures too, my partial is ok but other teeth look horrible. I have serious cavities with most of my top teeth. I think I can handle the pain because I don't mind the dentist. Normally don't even take the painkillers when I have something done. Only extra strength Tylenol myself. I have seriously thought of doing this for the last 5 years and now have the money to do it. I will be glad when I can smile and not have to worry about it. Thanks again.

 I dont have dentures but I want to get them but I cannot afford them., I looked dental plans out there.  Almost all plans i saw that every tooth they pull....is an additional cost other than the actual denture.  Is that true..?  If you get dentures, do they give you a temporary denture before you get the actual denture.
