Also just a note: google dental labs and find out how little money the dentists pay the labs to make dentures..thats a real eye opener..they pay so little but hand you a huge bill for thousands..most dentists are a flat out ripp off..do your own research and find out..its worth the time

My Advice,,,first make sure you need dentures..next call and call all of the denture places and ask tons of questions..make sure you do not OVER PAY..most places are going to take advantage of you and try to get the most money possible no matter what it takes..no matter what tricks they need to pull off the BIG MONEY..you should never pay more then $40 for adjustments, you have already in most cases paid well over what they tell you to start with and also in most cases when getting first time dentures you maybe need to buy 2 sets,a set for healing and later in 8 months to one year a set after healing..DONT SPEND $2,000 on the healing set,or the first time set, because after your gums heal, your going to have to get anoughter set, unless you want to get the first set lined and adjusted, but its not as good..I got a cheap set for the first time healing dentures (while the gums heal) and for my 2nd set I go for high quality dentures..they fit much better after the healing because for the first 8 months to one year the gums shrink..bottom line call around,I would never use any denture place that dose not take cash..they seem to want to rake in insurance money if they only take insurance..You can find good quality dentures for about the same as you would pay YOUR CO PAY using insurance..bottom line here is if they take cash at a fair price,if you do use insurance YOUR CO PAY will be much lower..but cheap dose not mean good..becarefull..look for the best price but the cheapest price dose not mean its the best for you..maybe you can get vary good work at a vary low price and if so awesome, but be vary carefull...next MAKE THEM KEEP THEIR AGREEMENT!!!!! if they agree to do the work and what type of work DO NOT LET THEM CHANGE IT AS YOU GO OR COME OUT WITH HIDDEN FEES! what I find from my time spent is mostly they want to rake in the cash, the money means more to most of them now days then you do..if they seem to care more about the money then they care about your health skip them and keep shopping..learn all you can and do not rush into it..you can get vary good work done for around $1,000 to $1,600..I had to drive 147 miles from my home town to get a fair and vary good job done and it was worth it,i paid cash out of my pockit for the whole thing and in most cases $2,500 less then what other places were trying to charge!!!.shop around People, ask tons of questions..Do you want good work done or do you want to make greedy People rich?..Yes some of the greedy ones do great work, but you can get great work done at a fair price..if your paying more then $2,000 for the whole works your getting ripped off!! You can get high quality dentures and denture work for $2,000 and less..and they are makeing good money doing so :)

I have been wearing denture's for forty years. If you can cap your teeth do it. I had four caps when they pulled my teeth and the cap was still attached to my root. I tell my children to cap there teeth if they have a problem. Dentures are ok but not all dentures are made alike as I have descovered.

MY first couple of sets were from MEXICO and were excelent dentures. Now i have to settle for these plastic dentures which are ok but not the same. I am now wearing a floating bottom plate and it is ok. My top plate is ok.

I have found that you should not throw your old sets away if they fit really well. Because they can be used in a pinch if you have a tooth fall out of your new set. Which has happened to my husband.

I just repair my older set by gluing in the teeth that fall out. I use glue that I buy at any store. If they pop out again I glue them back in. I have also filed on my dentures if they rub a sore place on my gums.

I wish I had never tossed my old sets away because the people making them today could make them the same because THEY FIT .

good luck to all of you who are getting denture. If you can cap them even if it is one at a time do it.
