What is the best way to remove denture adhesive from your gums and the roof of your mouth when you take your teeth out? I'm having mega problems with that!

I have been using powder on my uppers and the gooy stuff on the lowers. My question to you is how is the powder working for you on the lowers, and is there any trick to that.

Hi, I am new to this message board. I have full Dentures, both Top and Bottom. I have had my Upper Dentures for one month, and my Lower Dentures for 7 days now. My lower gums are still in the process of healing. The best way I have found to remove the Flexident Cream, is to flood my mouth with Ice Cold Water. This hardens the Flexident, and then I can pull it off my gums, like a piece of rubber. Then I brush my gums with a wide soft toothbrush and toothpaste, to remove any left over.
Also, I have found that Diet Coke and Mouth Wash will dissolve the Flexident. Any time I swish my mouth with Diet Coke or Biotene Mouth Wash, it dissolves the Flexident and makes my dentures loose grip.

I have had an upper denture 40 years.. never needed any adhesive on the top one. I just got a botton (and new top one) less than 2 weeks ago. I have been using adhesive on the bottom, as the dentist suggested it right from the beginning. I rinse the adhesive off with hot water..also a manicure stick is helpful. I rinse my mouth with warm water and mouth wash.. and pull off what remains.
I am eating soft foods.. have been since 2nd day. Chicken, noodles, pottoes. even have had some crackers and potato chips.
