Mike - does the upper plate go wayyy far back in your upper palate? They may have to shorten it.  Mine was initially reallly long, and it was causing me to gag. I went back the next day and said, "what the heck"? ha.  He said, "Oh yeah, its way too long/big for your mouth".  I thought all of this was why they took a mold of my mouth in the first place???????

Donald, I notice alot of salivating also. I think its because we now kind of suck on the upper denture alot, it creates alot of saliva.  I find that I spit when I talk now too because of it! lol  It feels like I'm constantly sucking on a cough drop or something.

Hi Melanie,

Your dentist didnt suggest adhesive until 6 mo.?!  As soon as the holes from my teeth were healed, (about 3 weeks) he told me I could used adhesive.  I find it really interesting, every dentist works differently.  I hate the feeling of talking with my teeth shut, I'm sorry you went through that.  I think you're right though, the thicker the liner, the better!
