partial dentures

Is there anyone out there that can tell me your experience with partial dentures, I have had alot of work done on my teeth over 30 years and now some of them are breaking and fillings are falling out and crowns are receeding and I don;t like how it looks. I am thinking of having all my back teeth pulled and getting partials, or maybe the whole mouth and getting full dentures, Does it really make you look older than you are when you have all your teeth removed and get dentures, and how long do they last, and can you eat good etc...just not sure what to do, I can't afford to have anymore root canals and crown done, it seems like a waste of money when they seems to fall apart after so many years, its very expensive to have all your teeth s fixed and of course that is what alot of dentist want to do with my teeth, but I tell them you arent paying for it, its my pocket, and I think getting dentures would be less expensive and you could eat without pain and just be done with it, any thoughts would be appreciated. I have already been to one dunture place and they said they would not touch my teeth, that they were in to good shape for extractions and dentures, but I disagree, its my mouth shouldn't I be the one to decide which way I am gonna go???
