I had my back teeth removed a few months ago. On January 13, I had the front removed and "temporary immediate dentures were placed in. I've kept my new "temporary immediate dentures" in day and night until last night,,,so that would be for 6 days i kept them in (except for ten minute intervals to rinse them). The dentist told me to add pressure , i guess to have the gums form to these foreign objects and not shrink therefore not being able to use them . But , I don't know,,,it feels like i'm abusing my gums. I haven't really even tried to chew with them,,,just eating stuff I can slither down my throat. It's a very odd feeling having this big plastic thing in my mouth. I didn't have implants yet for the bottoms, but am supposed to have two implants in about 8-12 weeks. Is it possible that the "flange" part of the lowers are too deep?kinda like pressing down into the bottom of my mouth (the roof part ,,but of the bottom). Or is it just too soon to know if the fit is right because it is only one week? I dread taking them out ,,LOVE when they are out,,,,DREAD putting them back in. Anybody else having this same question and feeling? Do I just need time? or Do i need to go to the dentist to see if there should be an adjustment. Now if the dentist doesn't have a lab on site,,,,does she have to send it out? does she do it herself? or do I need to go to the lab. As to this site, I found it helpful as to the placement of the adhesive and its other suggestions. thanks June

Reading your post makes me smile. I have only had mine since this past Monday and I have been back for adjustments 3x this week. I see all kinds of things wrong but my husband, mom and children do not see or hear the things I do. I know it's only been 4 days, I am just anxious because I go back to work in 3 days and do not want anything embarrassing to happen.

I just got mine teeth extracted on 3/5. They ut in my immediates. The ain has been really bad. I was getting sores everywhere. I ran out of orajel, so I ran to get some. THAT is when I discvered the miracle called Benzodent!!!!! It works for hours!! Has made evrything so much easier. The sores are better and it doesn't kill to take out and relace my dentures anymore. I still have a long way to go, but atleast it is bearable now!!
