Yes I have a problem eating with my dentures. I have a full lower plate, and when I use Fixodent, my dentures stay in for a while but then loosen and they have to be removed. It is like the salavia in my mouth desolves the Fixodent and they break loose. Is there a stronger holding product that you make? The product that I am using is Fixodent Free.

To Lovegolf; if the v-shape is sharp and irritating; either ask dentist to sand it down a bit, or if that's not possible, for financial or other reasons; take an emery-board (kind used to file your nails) and very gently; sand the spot down until it no longer IS sharp and irritating......no need to suffer unneccesarily....Mysmile

Try a product called Secure Denture Adhesive. It is totally different from all the other so-called adhesives. It is a true adhesive which bonds the teeth to the gums for up to twelve hours; and when you remove them, there is no goo left in your mouth. It also contains no zinc and has no taste. I've only had my teeth for about two months, and my dentist recommended it because my lowers were impossible to keep in with the brands you can get in the drug stores. I use the strips on the lowers and the paste on the uppers. Check it out on their web-site.

I've tried using "Secure" and and it actually creates a stinging and burning feeling at first.  I find it doesn't hold the bottom denture any better than Fixodent.  I've tried everything. Nothing helps.  I guess I'll have to look into having a couple of implants, which I dread doing since I already suffer from TMJ disorder and lower jaw bone loss.  I also have an upper denture but that doesn't give me any trouble staying in.
