Reply to Screw-in teeth to hold dentures

good things to know on this subject. thank you all

I'm talking to a dentist at this time... he has decided that all my teeth are loose and need to be removed... I'm having sticker shock at the quoted price that I've gotten for uppers and lowers... then came the presentation on the implants... I bought my first house for what was quoted... I have another appointment to let them regroup and come up with other numbers... I have talked to friends who say the top dentures stay fixed and probably the implants are an unnecessary expense.. neither have lowers.. at this time I'm on the fence... now am wondering if I should put all off... although my bones are deteriorating... not sure how fast.. since I haven't seen a dentist in about 12 years.

how long did it take for you to be able to use dentures after the implants?  Some are instantaneous but others take a long time.  I can wear my (bottom) dentures but nothing keeps them in place for long.  I am removing them and reapplying paste many times a day.  I have not found a GOOD fixative.  Are your dentures on implants removeable?  Thanks for any help as I am considering the instantaneous implants.  Do you remember the cost of yours?  I have no idea of the cost.  Thanks so much.  Gigi
