I don't have any reply to give my I have had mouth soreness since getting my dentures. I had six teeth extracted and the denture placed the same day. I've been to the dentist for revising the denture but the pain persists on the right side of my mouth. The gums are still not yet healed and the pain in the morning especially is agonizing. At first there were little shards of tooth/bone poking out but most of those are gone. The gums, though, along the edges, feel as if those shards are just underneath although my dentist assures me they are not. There is a white area that rubs on the denture that almost feels like a canker sore. I'm miserable. I've tried going without my denture for a few days to let my gums heal more but it doesn't make any difference. What can I do?

This sounds funny but it works. Whenever I have any gum soreness I buy a milkshake or eat ice cream which numbs the gum.

In the beginning couple of weeks I used a little oralgel to numb the sore spots.  Also have found that using sea-bond as the adhesive for the upper acts like a pad between my gums and the denture.

I'm not far enough along on this odyssey to tell you if there is real merit in this or not.. but I'll share it anyway. The tech in my dentists office told me to wait until the stitches had dissolved, and then to chew bubble gum without my teeth in, daily. To toughen and encourage healing of the gums. I am dubious, but will try it, and offer it as an option.

I have been using warm salt water to help the sore spots in my mouth..It also helps the gums to heal..The only problem I'm having now after having 14 teeth pulled and upper and lower dentures put in is when I sneezes the upper dentures come frying out of my mouth...Help
